Record date

The date on which a holder must be on the issuer's register to receive a declared dividend. Shares sold after the record date still carry that dividend to the seller.

Revised 22 October 2026 · Suggest a correction

When a board declares a dividend, it sets a record date. Whoever is recorded as the holder at the close of business on that date receives the payment. Because trades take time to settle, the last day to trade and still receive the dividend falls before or on the record date (see ex-dividend date).

Record dates across digital credit (as of 22 October 2026)

  • Quarterly series (STRF, STRK, STRD): record date is the 15th of the payment month, and payment is on the last day of the quarter (8-K, 31 August 2026). STRE uses the 15th as well, at 5 p.m. London time.
  • STRC: since 30 June 2026, record dates are the 15th and the last day of each month, with payment about half a month later. For example, record date 15 October 2026 has a payment date of 31 October 2026 (8-K, 30 September 2026).
  • SATA and SATS: paid every business day. The record date is the close of business on the immediately preceding business day (SATS dividend 8-K, 21 October 2026).
  • MORE: first record date 23 October 2026, with weekly record dates on Fridays thereafter, as set out in The Smarter Web Company's results-of-offer announcement of 12 October 2026.

Daily record dates for Strategy

Strategy has asked holders to approve daily record dates for STRC from 1 November 2026, and for STRF, STRK and STRD from January 2027. The vote is at a special meeting on 28 October 2026 (8-K, 25 September 2026). Strategy has declared November 2026 STRC dividends under both schedules. Only one set becomes payable, depending on the vote.

21DC keys its dividend records on the record date. This is because daily schedules can produce several record dates that share one payment date.

What to check in the filing

  • The record date and the time of day (for example 5 p.m. London for STRE)
  • Whether the declaration is conditional
  • The matching payment date
